The School of Sciences was established in 2019, formerly known as the School of Fundamental Science (1978-2003), School of Science (2003-2015), and the School of Mathematics and Chemical Engineering (2015-2019). The school consists of 9 departments: Department of Mathematics Department of Data Science and Big Data technology At present, there are more than 800 undergraduates majoring in the 3 undergraduate programs in the School: In addition, the School of Science also undertakes the teaching tasks of general courses such as higher mathematics, linear algebra, probability theory and mathematical statistics, college physics and experimental physics. At present, there are 63 faculty and staff members, including 4 professors, 16associate professors and 35 doctors. The ratio of the full-time teachers with the title of associate professor or above is 38% and the ratio with the diploma of doctor is 66%. The school has complete modern teaching and research facilities, which are mainly distributed in six teaching laboratories and four scientific research laboratories. The total value of instruments and equipment is more than 5 million, and the total experimental area is nearly 3000 square meters. In recent three years, the School has won one second prize of provincial teaching achievement, two first prizes of school level teaching achievement, and published two provincial key teaching materials. The School has also undertaken 8 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 5 Provincial Fund Projects, and published more than 30 SCI journal papers. Bearing the motto of responsibility and striving for excellence, the school spares no effort to produce high-quality applied undergraduates and provide intellectual support to serve the local industries and the social development, with school's annual employment rate of undergraduates at 100%. |
